“Signing up for SOLJ has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in a really long time.
Learning from such great teachers and from such a diverse community is changing my perspective on my Judaism and really, the lens from which I view all things.

The School of Living Jewishly is a multigenerational and pluralistic learning community that emphasizes belonging, openness, and curiosity. Our easy-to-use platform welcomes you to learn at your own pace while connecting with learners from around the globe. Lessons are media-rich and digestible episodes you access at your own pace, with wisdom meant for your everyday life.
Our opening course “Foundations of Jewish Life” is a cyclical year of Jewish learning that you can join any time to help deepen your everyday life. The course is designed to bring meaning into the core areas of your life by drawing from the well of Jewish practice and wisdom. It includes four thematic semesters — Rest, Nourish, Transform, and Love — to empower you with wisdom and rituals to build a Jewish life on your terms. The “Foundations” course cycles throughout the year, so come whenever and stay for as long as you'd like.
Together, let's re-enchant and reimagine Jewish learning for our daily lives.

“Everything that the Jewish tradition calls us to do for one another comes down to the foundational idea of restoring dignity.”
- From the Communal Nourishment lesson of the Foundations Course
How we rest.
How we nourish.
How we transform.
How we love and attend to life’s moments.
Jewish practice has always understood these central elements as some of the most defining features of our lives. Throughout the year, the “Foundations” course dives into each of these themes, exploring the ideas, rituals, holidays, and actions that ground them.
We are currently moving through“Transform” semester, through which we look at the Hebrew Calendar of Holy Days to understand the full personal and collective transformational arc of the Jewish calendar. You can join us any time, and go at your own pace!
