"Through our Bodies, we can Touch our Souls”

We welcome the month of Shvat with herbalist, bodyworker, educator and doula, Ariela Sharon Yomtovian. Ariela is here to teach us about this new month, through TEA and TORAH, because, as she says, “through our bodies, we can touch our souls.” Ariela guides us in brewing an herbal tea, to give us the nourishment we need at this time of the year, while weaving in Torah and teachings to ground in the wisdom of this new month. This month’s tea features Nettle, Oatstraw, Horsetail Stick, Fennel, and Hawthorn Berry!

Our sages teach that the new moon of Shvat is the time when the sap begins to flow deep within the trees. In the darkness and chill of winter, there is a sign of life. This is the hidden, unseen movement that prepares us for the coming of spring. This is a time of renewal and flow that is subtle and requires us to quiet our minds and lives so we can feel our life force which is flowing even in the depths of winter. We are invited to tend to our bodies, and to the aliveness that flows, even when the world feels dark and difficult.

Ariela, thank you for your profound guidance, your Torah teachings, and bringing herbs to enhance our wellbeing.
